FICTION WRITING WORKSHOP

By 21 October 2016 Workshops

Fiction Writing Sessions

  • November 12, 2016       9:30 – 12:30 PM
  • November 26, 2016       9:30 – 12:30 PM

Limited Class Size – Maximum 8 Students

Pre-registration required.  Cost $200.00 + HST

In the first session, we will be discussing the major elements of short fiction such as plot, character, and setting. To facilitate this discussion we will use a short story that will be emailed to participants ahead of time. As we discuss each element, we will also be doing in-class writing exercises to underpin our understanding. Work done in class will also be discussed by participants.

Participants will then have time to craft a short story of their own. During this break, participants may consult with the instructor via email about their story if they wish. Participants will be required to submit their stories to the instructor by Wednesday, November 23, 2016, so the instructor may disseminate them to the entire workshop.

On the second and final session, we will spend the entire time workshopping participants’ stories. Guidelines to workshopping will be provided.
