The Writer’s Block Workshop – 5 weeks starting April 22nd

7:30 PM – 9:30 PM Weekly

PRICE: $150 + HST  REGISTRATION: please email workshopswithjacob@gmail.com

What happens when you sit down to write? Do you freeze up? Do you freak out? Do you write a bunch and then throw it all away? Do you get close to finishing and then suddenly lose steam? Do you just stare at the blank page, not knowing where to start?

If any of this sounds like you, you might be suffering from writer’s block.

This unique 5-week workshop uses creative writing techniques, philosophy, and psychology to help blocked writers move past their barriers, build a routine, and calibrate their writing mindset. The goal? To establish the one foundational tool that all writers need: a process that works for you, not against you.

The Writer’s Block Workshop is designed, organized, and taught by 4-time CSA nominee Jacob Duarte Spiel. Jacob was a founding member of The Beaverton and has spent the last decade as a professional writer in TV, advertising, audio drama, radio, video games, and more. He is also a lifelong sufferer of writer’s block.

The Magic of Customer Rituals

Hosted by CoWork and presented by Caroline Wilson at Vireo Research

May 1, 2024 10:00 AM – 2:30 PM

A Half-Day Workshop to Untangle the Rich and Complex World of Customer Rituals, Routines and Habits.

Creative and Data-Driven Techniques and Strategies to Find Your Customers’ Human Patterns and Innovate and Optimize Your Products, Services, Marketing and Decision-Making.

Stop spending your time trying to ask and figure out how your customer connects to your product, service or brand.

Start asking them about the patterns, rhythms, routines, and rituals that guide their lives and everyday experiences.

Humans, or whatever you call your customers, or your donors, or your users, or your clients, ALL have rituals, routines, and habits, that provide balance, structure and meaning to their days.

Understanding, and then applying this knowledge is the ultimate competitive edge when it comes to making the right strategic decisions and navigating change and growth.

Rituals are complex though, and so are our habits and routines, and how we feel about all of them adds layers to that complexity.

Your Workshop Host: Caroline Wilson is a market researcher and entrepreneur with 20 years of experience. She started Vireo Research in 2009 and she’s on a mission to democratize the market research thinking and customer research skills and strategies that corporations leverage all the time. Past clients include Google, Metrolinx, AB InBev, Greenshield Canada, Plan Canada, Scotiabank, Tangerine, and Canada Goose, as well as a range of other eclectic brands large and small
